Film Presentation: Power to Change

Thursday May 25th, 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Metro Cinema in the Garneau Theatre
8712 109 Street
Edmonton, Alberta T6G1E9

At the invitation of Metro Cinema Guest Presenter series, I am pleased to show the German-made documentary Power to Change: The Energy Rebellion.

I have decided to show this provocative film to spur dialogue in Alberta on the potential and the constraints to shifting to renewable power compared to experience of other jurisdictions. Following the film will be a panel disussion with local experts sharing their perspectives and views on the potential and the measures needed for a similar shift here in Canada.

Tickets to the film cost $6 (children), $9 (seniors & students) and $12 (adults) and can purchased at the door or in advance online

Power to Change shows that a more rapid turnaround in energy policy towards 100-percent renewables is possible, even faster than what opponents would have you believe. With a strong story, breathtaking pictures, and an engaging musical score, this film offers an insight into how a renewable energy revolution can be achieved. By visualizing the struggle and the social quantum leap that this transformation requires, the film aims to provoke change.

Thanks to the panelists who are joining me following the screening:
• Clifton Lofthaug, President, Great Canadian Solar Ltd
• Gil McGowan, President, Alberta Federation of Labour
• Evan Wilson, Prairies Regional Director, Canadian Wind Energy Association
